Course overview
The programme is for people who already hold a New Zealand Class 1 learner licence and want structured teaching—not only test tips—to build hazard perception, lawful habits, and sound decisions in real New Zealand conditions.
Classroom work, learner workbook activities, a supervised closed-book theory summative, and a structured on-road practical assessment block are designed to work together. Completing the course does not guarantee a restricted practical test pass, replace logged supervised practice, or mean NZTA has approved the course for public delivery.
Development purpose: Give learners a coherent pathway from classroom foundations through integration to summative checks, so instructors can teach for competence rather than memorisation alone.
Five-part guided tour
High-level narrative aligned to the reviewer presentation—without confidential scripts, assessments, or submission PDFs.
Part 1 of 5
What is the programme?
Twenty-point-five hours of GDI-designed contact: six facilitated classroom modules, a supervised summative theory block, and one on-road practical session. The aim is safer progression through the graduated driver licensing system—not a shortcut around practice requirements.
Part 2 of 5
What will learners experience?
Seven teaching modules plus summative gates, in a fixed sequence from road-safety foundations to integration and practical assessment.

Teaching and assessment (summary)
Teaching
Facilitated discussion, scenarios, and workbook alignment across segmented classroom pathways—with formative checks between blocks. Detailed facilitation scripts and controlled materials are not published on this guest page.
Theory assessment
After MOD-01–06, learners sit a 2.0 hour supervised closed-book summative theory event mapped to selected learning outcomes. Question content and marking guides remain confidential.
Practical assessment (MOD-07)
MOD-07 allocates 2.5 hours for the on-road practical assessment event. Within that session, segment S05 requires a minimum of 30 minutes of valid continuous unassisted assessed driving. The assessor may pause or intervene when safety requires it—safety intervention takes precedence over completing uninterrupted driving time.
Practical competencies PC-01 through PC-12 are observed using structured criteria in the official submission. Detailed rubrics and instruments are not published on this guest page.
Part 4 of 5
Delivery and digital support
Delivery is led by Dharmendra Singh for HIWAY TO HARTS LIMITED (trading as Get Driving Instructor and Pisttons Driving School)—facilitator, assessor, and point of contact for this guest review.
Digital learning support is offered separately through GDI Academy (see below). Academy practice does not constitute course completion and is not NZTA-approved.

Submission context
The full RC2-CHG-063 course pack was submitted for NZTA review. Authorised NZTA reviewers use a separate, access-controlled portal; this guest page shares only the public-safe summary above.
No assessment keys, provider QMS, internal audits, or submission PDF library are linked from this page.
Seven learning modules
Frozen RC2 sequence and hours. After MOD-06: 2.0 h summative theory, then MOD-07 practical.
MOD-01 · 3.0 hRoad safety, GDLS & safe progression
MOD-02 · 3.0 hRisk factors & hazard awareness
MOD-03 · 3.0 hBehaviour, decisions & influences
MOD-04 · 2.75 hPractical risk management
MOD-05 · 2.25 hLegal responsibilities & licence conditions
MOD-06 · 2.0 hIntegration & supervised practice planning
MOD-07 · 2.5 hOn-road practical assessment (PC-01–PC-12); S05 includes ≥30 min continuous unassisted assessed driving when safe
Total contact 20.5 hours (16.0 h facilitated classroom, 2.0 h summative theory, 2.5 h MOD-07 practical block). Safety intervention during MOD-07 takes precedence over uninterrupted driving time.
Learning outcomes (high level)
Nine learning outcomes (LO-01–LO-09) and twelve practical competencies (PC-01–PC-12) are mapped in the official submission. Summative theory emphasises LO-01, LO-02, LO-03, LO-05, LO-06, and LO-07; LO-04 is demonstrated primarily on the road; LO-08 and LO-09 are emphasised formatively and in integration.
LO-01–LO-03 — Foundations, risk, and behaviour
LO-04 — On-road application (MOD-07)
LO-05–LO-07 — Rules, integration, practice planning
LO-08–LO-09 — Formative / integration emphasis
